Exodus

I want to begin this introduction to the book of Exodus with a quote from the very last question I wrote for this enriching 12-week inductive study. “Exodus is a book about transitions. It’s a story about leaving an old life and entering into a new one. It’s a relationship tale as the nation of Israel learns how to walk well with their holy, delivering, providing God. And, the book of Exodus is a story in the middle. The Israelites’ story isn’t completed; they haven’t yet arrived in the Promised Land; they haven’t even made it through to the end of the 40 years in the wilderness. It is a story of preparation as God teaches and trains them for the days ahead. That same God is at work in your life—in your transitions, in your relationship with Him, as you navigate an incomplete story trusting the One who leads you. What are some lessons you want to take with you from the book of Exodus that will help you live well in the middle of your story?” ~from Lesson #12
