The Starting Point

This page is for everyone. It’s the starting point of everyday essentials we all need to understand and implement throughout our lives.

“Start Here” is not just for newbies, though if you are new to the Bible, want to know God, or have recently come to faith in Jesus, this page contains the foundational things you need to get started on your journey of walking with the Lord and studying His Word. In the Christian life, the things we learn at the beginning as new believers, we continue to do the rest of our lives here on earth. As young believers, we learn to spend time with the Lord daily, yet no one ever grows out of their need to spend time with the Lord. As young believers, we learn how to confess and repent of sin and resist temptation, yet no believer ever gets to the point where they no longer sin. As young believers, we need to learn how to have a quiet time, how to walk in the spirit, how to share our faith, and more, which is why I’ve filled this page (and will continue to do so) with these starting point essentials.

This page may be the starting point, yet it’s not the finish line. These essentials are for everyone—everyday.

I purposely kept the information brief and to the point. I wanted to keep it bite-sized, so it wouldn't feel overwhelming. Most of the time, I included lots of extra verse references for you to look up, so you can study further, get used to finding things in the Bible, and see that God has provided what we need in the Bible for living this life for His glory. I’ve also included a PDF version of the article, so you can use it for yourself or in your discipleship time with someone else.

If you are at “Start Here,” it’s because you have a desire to know the Lord better. I love this! I want to help you, which is why I will continually point you to the Bible. It’s only in the Scriptures that we come to know God. I can promise you this, you will never be sorry you sought the Lord or spent time reading and studying the Bible. Not seeking Him, not walking faithfully with Him, not making sure you know Jesus as your Savior will leave you filled with regret.
